Family life

Waka and Carmine live with Leya, their mother, Yukio, their father, and Chiri, their younger sister. In their youth, their mornings would consist of waking at dawn and helping their mother bake goods for the bakery - their family business. They would bake snacks for their school lunches, then leave to attend a rather prestigious(?) private school. However as they grew older, their interests began to diverge, and their natural talents surfaced. This caused a divide between them, although they can reconcile when in the presence of family, or when the perfect opportunity to Cause A Problem comes to light.

Interests and Hobbies
Waka Suwabe

Younger by two minutes, Waka is the more exciteable and enthusiastic twin. His childhood was punctuated by scraped knees and bumps on the head, usually from climbing the trees planted in the family backyard, or helping out around the family bakery. Whatever he lacked in patience, he made up for with effort and determination.

As Waka grew older, his interests began to branch from typical childhood fare into more elaborate concepts such as the construction of spells. His parents encouraged his study, arranging to send him to one of the magic universities to begin his study as a Wizard. However after the first few weeks, Waka was sent back, deemed a failure by his teachers. Leya tried to comfort him, but Waka shrugged her off.

From there, Waka became bitter and irritated. He started to fail in his standard classes, and more often than not, skipped to hang out around the bakery or somewhere else in the city. His failures made him feel powerless, and his anger at himself drew a wedge between himself and his family. At one point, he considers making a Warlock Pact, bringing the topic up with his mother only to be aggressively shut down in an uncharacteristic fit of rage. Later that evening he was visited by his estranged uncle Shuu, who explained his own Warlock Pact, and the impact it'd had on him, and why Leya had reacted so harshly.

Now Waka is trying to find his goal and purpose. He still hasn't returned to school full-time, but he has made attempts to communicate with his family again, and will always take up his older brother's offers to play a few pranks around the town, even if they're more tame than they used to be.

Carmine Suwabe
Older by only two minutes, Carmine is more quiet and reserved than his brother. While Waka played and scrambled about in his youth, Carmine kept to himself, both due to his less-boistrious personality and the plethora of maladies that plagued him as a child. A degenerative condition in his right eye caused him to lose his vision, and pneumonia led to him being relatively bedbound. While Waka busied himself with experiencing the world via injury and exploration, Carmine wrapped himself up with books and stories of far-off places.
